((Memory #01, Positive/Trivial))

► Casey Wood's sudden change of heart. (Invincible)

What Happened:

• He was pausing to catch his breath because something had freaked him out. Something that had made him feel like he was hallucinating or on drugs.
• And then the hottest girl in school stops in front of him. Casey Woods, his brain supplies, and she's never noticed him despite going to the same school for several years, and having the same classes.
• And suddenly, she knows his name and is acting very confused about him WHAT IS THIS??
• When he points out she's never noticed him before, she's all "it's okay, you're hanging with Tad now", which seems to explain everything 'cause he is apparently one of The Cool Kids (and Nick is not).
• He at least respects her honesty in being shallow??
• There is a new coach at their school now! He remembers from his starter memory that apparently the last one ate his principal.
• Casey says here's been a rash of thefts at the school.
• The new principal's name is Richard Head. WHY WOULD YOU NAME YOUR KID THAT??
• He tries to leave to go pick up his mom from her first day at her new job— she'd been fired from her last one less than twenty-four hours ago.
• Casey wants to go with him and LINKS ARMS WITH HIM.
• He tells Casey he's the man of the house, and has to take care of his mom. He's had jobs since he was 12 because he didn't want to spend her money on her for nice things.
• Casey thinks this is impressive.
• Casey had a boyfriend named Stone.
• Casey is the homecoming queen.
• Nick jumps away when Casey starts blatantly hitting on him and says he's "kind of seeing someone". The name "Nekoda" pops into his head.
• Casey is not dating someone at the moment! Digs into his jeans pocket, pulls out his phone, inputs her phone number.
“Call me sometime.” This time when she slid the phone back in, there was no missing her grope.
Rising up on her tiptoes, she nipped his chin with her teeth and tongue. “But don’t wait too long, Nick.”

• And then she walks away and that is a really distracting walking away.
• And then there is a voice in his head! Someone named Ambrose, but this is apparently not freaking him out?
• They talk about Casey, and Ambrose informs him that he will end up dating Casey and she'll be a very good girlfriend... and an even better friend later on.
• Ambrose says Nick will have a future in having an easy time of getting girlfriends, but keeping them will be harder.
• Oh, and Ambrose very strictly and angrily tells him to treat Tabitha from his starter memory and someone named Simi as sisters, and never have sex with them ever.
• Ambrose says he can see and hear everything Nick does, and will one day teach him that power.
Nick looked up at the perfect blue sky above. It was a beautiful day. “And I am certifiably insane. I’m seeing demons in my friends, shape-shifters, and hearing voices from lunatic uncles.” How had this nut farm become his?

Learned/Effects:
• New People: Casey Woods, Tad (mentioned), Principal Richard Head (mentioned), Stone (mentioned), Ambrose.
• Still fuzzing out Nick's real name here. I want him to go a while without it.
• So, apparently his life had suddenly and recently become very, very weird back home? This doesn't feel like it's too much longer since his original memory.
• Wait did his lunatic uncle say he was going to teach him a superpower??

Well, to be fair. Ambrose may be a douche but in one case he gives really good advice. Sleeping with the Simi is a terrible idea.
